Starting about 1970, I took my family to Branson every five years in the fall, usually for the special events in October before they closed for the season. Nice weather, fall foliage, real pleasant. Another treat we enjoyed was the play "Shepherd of the Hills", just down the road from Silver Dollar City. We were at the play the night they pulled that little girl out of a well shaft in Texas. Another thing we enjoyed was a cabin in a place called the Sammy Lane resort, right on Lake Taneycomo, near downtown Branson. That's all gone, and a shopping mall is in its place. Last time we went was 1995, and I realized that the Branson we loved didn't exist anymore. We've never went back. Hope you enjoy your visit.
