Would you travel for teh right machine? We have 2-3 IH 510 grain drills in our local area for around $2000. Newer, faster, tighter... They are plentiful.
So, if you can make a road trip, it looks like yoru best bet is to come out of the black hills and visit me. Come see our puny farms and nice farm machinery. You'd be a king in this castle. Just come to visit, and bring a trailer.
I don't know much about SD, but around here, I could spit and hit a nice JD B or FB drill for $600-1000. Why go that route though when you can have a nice IH 510 for $2000? Big planters with wome weight will get the job done. I hope you find what you are look for. Van brunt I think was the mfg for deere, the Model B or FB.
Sorry to say that a bit of traveling is teh only thing I can reccomend. I am just another dumb farmer! LOL
