add a fourth variable: modifications done to tractor for mowing purposes. some tractors get odd undersize wheels and have some common farm options (3 point, 540 pto, factory remote valves, etc.) eliminated to make it fit the mower company or municipality"s cost/safety/option specifications. Sometimes parts are cut off with a torch or welded to be unusable. have some one familiar with the tractor series and/or an eye for detail with you to spot the weird features if you feel overwhelmed. You can buy a working tractor ready to go for the same money as the odd one or for less money than the difference in parts to convert to common specification would cost. on the positive side, Sometimes you get some nice options in the deal if they leave the extra controls for the mower in place: crankshaft driven hydraulic pump with large capacity, joystick hydraulic controls in addition to factory controls, etc. However the way the things are disassembled (like decommisioned cop cars) could wreck the nice parts in short order, so again familiarity with tractors and their systems becomes important.
