Started tearing down the rear axle on my 99 explorer, on taking the diff cover off i had a feel around in the bottom of the casing, just to check see if there was anything in there that shouldn't.
I found 2 small 'discs', about the size of a penny. 1 looked like it took a lot of wear and 'mushroomed' over the edge, the other as if if had got caught up in the gearing at sometime.
I've had a look around in there, but can't see where they would come from. Can anyone give me an idea where they should be, or whether they are an 'added option' left by someone else!!
