They have to put up warning signs when mowing because stupid drivers run into the mowers.I live on a state highway that is posted 55 for most of it.Intersections are posted 35 to 40.Theres a side road thats blind coming west because of a small hill.If you ignore the 35 mph sign and the side road sign you may pop over the hill a hit a horse trailer coming out of the side road.Come too fast over a hill a half mile from me and you may hit a tractor, baler and loaded hay wagon crossing the road.Or better yet a loaded tractor trailer slowly pulling out of the field.We all have to stop at times when turning left into our drive way.This leaves us sitting ducks for crazy drivers who ignore the 40 mph signs ,intersection sign and blinking yellow light.Then there are the fools who dont adjust their speed to road conditions.We have oil and propane trucks backing into driveways,ups trucks and the mail carrier that backs in to the drive way when some thing is too large for the box.The roads are public and are paid for by every one who uses them.I rarely drive over 50 mph.My trucks shifts into overdrive at 45.Gas milage is good. go faster and see the gas gauge drop.Since most posters have diagreed with you. you must be wrong.Saw a 1927 Model T Ford going by while I was digging potatoes.He was going about 40 mph ,close to top speed for a T uphill.Again you aint King of the road and you dont have exclusive right to use it.
