Hey Glen,I've experienced what you're describing.the grooves can be 'cleaned up' with a round file-no welding nessary.If the clearance between the wiperarm and billhook is too much,a sharp rap with a hammer will fix that.Corn stalks are hard to bale-and hard on a baler.You will need to completely back off chamber tention,corn stalks still contain moisture and pack too tight,therefore breaking string as the bale is formed.the sting will not 'slide' between the end of the bale while in the chamber and breaks.Hope this helps.Steve
