You would have had better luck in the Ferguson Forumn. There is marks on the gears. I found this archived from Jan 24 in the Ferguson Forumn:
If you have removed the chain-wheel from the Camshaft then it is more difficult, if you have not removed the Chain-wheel it is just a matter of aligning the scribe marks on the chain-wheels on the Camshaft and the Crankshaft. If you have fitted a new chain-wheel on the Camshaft then you will need the info to reset the timing. If you email me and let me know just what you have done and if you have had the Chain-wheels off or not and if they have scribe lines on both of them, I will send you the information that you need to set the timing. You should have a new chain at this time, if the old one is at all slack you can't set the timing with any accuracy...John fergusontractors@tiscali.co.uk
