I had to look it up, to the locals it is known as "Site R" not Raven Rock. I am about 7 miles East of Gettysburg so the Site is ~20 miles from me. Drive by it pretty regularly, if you couldn"t see the antennas you probably would never know it was there. Pretty isolated, remote, etc.
Can"t really speak to rental availability, but Rouzerville is pretty small, Carroll Valley is something of a resort community with golf courses and ski hill. Site is probably as close to Gettysburg as Waynesboro. G"burg is a tourist town, but nice place to live. Can"t really talk about Waynesboro. Not sure how close they need to be to work, but my in-laws have some pretty nice rental places in Hanover, PA (~15 miles) and larger cities of Harrisburg, PA and Frederick, MD are relatively close (20-30 miles) North and South on US-15.
