Somebody bought the teenage neighbor kids three 22's when I was growing up. One day a bullet wizzed over our heads while working in the yard finding its way to the upper portion of the house.
It was scary. We called the Sheriff and advised of the situation and asked them to come and take a look and follow-up with appropriate action. The Deputy said we know all about those kids, no need to visit and confirm our story. It had happened with these kids before. The Sheriff came out and talked to the shooters.
It apparently did not do a lot of good as one of the shooters shot his brother in the neck a few weeks later. The boy (now grown) still has the bullet in his body. The parents did take the rifles away from the boys after this incident.
