My wifes grandfather had a situation where the farmer owned both sides of the road and he took down all of the fences and just plowed it and planted grain in the whole thing. Grandpa said it was a right of way for access to a section of his farm and had been for years. (farmer who plowed it inherited it from his dad when he passed away)He said he still had a right of way through it and was going to drive through. He drove across it where the road had been and when he went to come back he took a different path, said he couldn't be sure where the road had been. Each time he did this he would drive just a little different so as to make as many different tracks as possible. Farmer eventually put the road back in.
