I retired from the Airport where we used Rubber blades on a couple of our plow trucks. The trucks had a front mount 12 ft. plow with a rubber blade and a conventional 12 ft. underblade that was steel. The rubber blade was used for cleaning up wet slushy snow on the pavement, and also for pushing snow in grassy areas close to taxiway lights without tearing up the ground. The rubber blades lasted usually one winter before having to flip them over. We had adjustable wheels on the front plow to raise or lower the blade according to the conditions of the pavement and wear. Hope this helps, Leo
