Just got back in the house a bit ago. Apricot tree fell on the deck from the weight of the snow and ice this afternoon. A couple branchs on my Agricat parked next to it and a fair size limb on my golf cart. Barbeque grill, smoker and a couple chairs on the deck will never be the same. Wife and I were both nearby, heard it go and watched it fall. Her inside the house and me by the garage. Had to have her throw me my keys so I could get a chainsaw out of the shop and cut my way back into the house! Wonder how apricot wood will do in my new smoker... Gotta make the best of things as it sure could have been worse. Power is still on. It was flickering for a while which is why I was outside getting lanterns from our trailer. Trees cracking all around here for quite a while this afternoon as I was working around the tree trying to see and salvage.Really an eerie sound to have trees breaking off around you!
