I will reaffirm your post. Yes the KC's are a very similiar organization to the Mason's. Yet another good organization who helps people and builds character.
If you went through the three degrees the Grand Lodge of the state you joined in will have record of it. Also if the lodge you joined is seemingly closed the charter went to another lodge. If you dropped out either by just not paying your dues or by demitting (requesting your memebership be dropped) rejoining is pretty easy. Also rejoining in another state (with a couple exceptions) is not a major issue just takes a little more time. Just some of the tidbits I learned during my stint as secretary.
