My Prince PTO pump blew a huge leak while splitting wood. I can't find parts or a parts breakdown that matches my pump. Anybody come across this problem?
I've been to Prince's Website and downloaded their parts manual. I also paid near $60 for their repair kit that they claim fits ALL their PTO pumps. Well, not this one.
My pump has two cast-iron end caps and an aluminum center-housing, 2" thick. The gears only have one wear plate. The catalog shows two wear plates. My one wear-plate uses a single long length of o-ring material with a long fiber back-up liner. The catalog only shows rigged plastic liners and I have nothing like that.
My pump part # is Prince HC-PTO-1. Prince only shows a HC-PTO-1A and newer.
I made my own parts to fix for now and don't know how long it's going to last. I DID split wood for 10 years before it blew - so maybe I'll get another 10 years. Or maybe not. I'd like to find out how to make this thing right - or maybe - even better. The new pumps are rated to withstand 2250 PSI. I have no idea what this was rated at, but I suspect less.

But, I want to talk about my tractor! We didn't even own a lawnmower, and all of a sudden we had enough grass to feed all the starving children of the bovine world. Naturally, I talked
