don't have the cell service here to use an aircard... so have had satellite service for 6 years.
first 2+ years had wildblue ... slow...can't stream videos, lots of hangups doing other stuff, even yahoo mail was slow to load.
switched to hughesnet...slow...can't stream videos, lots of hangups doing other stuff, even yahoo mail was slow to load...
both are EXPENSIVE... as far as weather (a common complaint) really wasn't an issue except a couple times a year or less...
got an ad for exede (service from wildblue, different satellite)...price is less than our hughesnet service and...as of right now...speed is 7-10X as fast...CAN stream video...pictures load instantly...much different... if you are a "gamer" then this wouldn't be good because there is a very brief delay for the signal to hit the satellite so ... if you were playing a shooting type game against someone with a faster connection...you would be killed and not even know it...
but this...so far...is unbelieveably better than hughesnet and wildblue
