I am NOT a pilot, nor have I ever been, BUT I can walk into any airport in the country and rent a single engine plane from anyone who has one for public rental. I can show proof of renters insurance paid yearly to anyone who types out the agreement for the rental. I am not screened by anyone, not questioned by anyone. I'm given a set of keys to a plane and a 3rd headset for the intercom when asked. I can fly into any major airport and any small airport at my leisure. I can fly by visual flight rules which requires no flight plan. I can carry 600 pounds of load and it does not have to be documented regardless if its people, or products. I can talk on my cell phone up to about 3000 feet, text message up to about 6500 feet, and fly out over any lake or city.
Now, keep in mind that I do actually have a licensed pilot that does get the keys from me and is checked off to fly the planes I rent. But, he is never screened by anyone either because he picks up the keys at my home.
No TSA, no screening of any baggage, and 50 gallons of fuel that could make a heck of a boom.
