A few years back i was doing some digging for a customer over a summer and he kept moving this double door safe around with his fork lift till one day he broke it when it tipped over . Before that I had been trying to buy it from him but he would sell. after it got broke then he wanted to sell it . being broke and not feasibly repairable i refuse to buy it .He had a couple part time scraper try to do something with it but they had no clue how to scrap a safe . finally he asked what I could do with it. I charged him to load it on my truck ,transport it to my house and dispose of it, which cost him close to $250.00. When I was trying to buy it my higest offer to him was $750.00 ,only because I knew it had something in it and I knew it had some historical local history.the kicker is as I was scraping out the safe I found about 30 coins from the mid 1800's which I got almost $1000.00 for them . by the way I got about $350.00 for the scrap.
