I'm in central illinois and have been contemplating drilling tillage radishes in after soft red winter wheat combined in july this year(2012). I have a few questions and concerns with this idea. Been reading a few brochures from Pro Harvest seeds and they make it sound like a god send to weed control and compaction issues, has anybody been using these for the above mentioned practices and how has the results been for you? Do you have any issues with the matted down decayed foliage in spring keeping the ground from drying out? They claim a guy wants to drill 8lbs to the acre.....what do you guys recommend? I would be drilling it in on 7.5 inch row spacings. Any info on this will be appreciated! Thanks Luke
