In too Deep's ??? about a 75-125 HP tractor to feed with got me curious about what the neighbors farm with... Ran across one of the "big guys" from the next town He has 3 tractors and a show toy. His overall do everything tractor is 80HP and he has a CLAAS 150 HP that he uses for plowing etc.... Then he's got a 45-50 HP that his wife uses to take care of the garden and animals and do the hay with. Then a little 12 HP that he takes to shows and pulls the grandkids around and picks up feed with.
Neighbor Lady does everything with 130HP.
What got me was, the 1st guy said his combine used 145 gallon of fuel in a day (@ 9 bucks a gallon = 1300 bucks) ....
On top of everything else, a farmer has to be a genious just to pencil things out and make the bucks work.....
