I am swapping out an electric range for a gas one. Pipe is done. Existing connector is 4 wire 220. Was thinking about swapping the 50 amp breaker for 15 amp capping the red off at the box and the wall and pig tailing 12 gauge from the 8 gauge black and white to the 110 receptical. Its all romex or id just pull it. Thinking that i Should just be able to leave the white and the ground in the bus bars at the box where they are I think. The pigtails will be inside a box. What"s the best connector for 8 to 12 just a wire nut or must it be a split bolt connector. Many thanks.
