We have found that total costs including purchasing, raising and butchering came to nearly $3 per pound for the pigs we raised last year, but it may be different for you. I don't know that there is a great savings for us but the fact that the pigs were raised by us and fed things that we thought were suitable does make a difference to me. Everything is going up all of the time, and when we started out raising pigs in 2003 it was a lot cheaper. Zach
