I was talkin with a couple of fellows, at an auction, leaning on a 5209 new idea conditioner. the one in question, had a new gearbox, the old one was sitting below it, with a twisted pto input shaft. Also had a few turtles on the half shell, laying under it. He said that on the old ones, the turtles drove from the same common shaft, which can twist. He also said that the turtles needed to be dis-assembled, and greased, he did it each winter. He said it takes a special lube, I said what, turtle wax?? we both got a chuckle, and I moved on, cause I was just leanin on the MC, not really interested.
