The news outlets seem to be slanting this towards "government screwing poor farmers" but really it's a serious public health and safety issue, not to mention the economic impact.
These things are not the cute little pink piggies at the petting zoo. These are ferocious man-eaters. They eat ANYTHING, including your dog, your kid, even YOU. If a pack of wild hogs drags you off, there won't be a trace of you left.
I would bet you'd be all in favor of this law if someone you knew was eaten by wild hogs.
