There are some over in India but by far the most common bike is Hero Honda 120's Those are basically the old 110 bikes.
When I first saw one in India I thought it would be neat to bring one in as I knew we were gonna bring in a container anyway. Did a quick search and found there is a importer in Faribult, MN. Wasn't gonna go through the hassle to bring in something that wasn't gonna be a rarity here.
Reason Honda's are Hero Honda's there and now are just Hero's is until recently India had tarrif's that about doubled the price of any imported goods.
As to diesal bikes, Diesel is heavily subsidised over gas. Basically they don't charge road tax on diesel and they do on gas, bout 30% difference in price. Haven't seen one yet but CNG and LP are even more heavily subsidised so one of the next times I expect to see a two wheeler running one of these fuels. Three wheeler and regular taxi's are required to run CNG or LP in Delhi state.
