conibers are not legal here so I use legholds.I dont specifically set for badgers very often,( about all gone here)but i have trapped a few over the years.If i do set for one i'll use a double coiled no 2 3/4 or 3 ,night latched,offset,double swiveled,and staked,set blind in the den entrance,or in a hole set nearby baited with either cow tongue, skunk,or both. All leg holds here must be offset ,and have a 8" max jaw spread.skunk makes a good bait for both badger and coyote.make sure you got enough trap,those badgers are sure hard on one.and make sure if you set in the open theres no bushes nearby where they can get wrapped up and pull loose. For some reason cow tongue makes a good bait here for about everything.Probably because animals are used to feeding on cattle that die.little trick my uncle used to do was to take a old dirty shirt or something and plug the extra den entrances with it,then be really careful about keeping trap and all scent free ,and setting his trap in the one left clear.
