I don't like to borrow or lend equipment either. Seems like most stuff I lend out doesn't come back in the same shape it left. Damaged tires, pieces bent or missing, etc. Last time I borrowed a chopper box (was waiting on a new main apron for one of mine), it cost me over $500 - a new 12.5L15 and a new bottom beater (@#$%! thin Gehl beaters!). But the tire and beater gave out when I was using it, so as far as I was concerned, it was my responsibility to replace them. Owner offered to pay me back, but like some of you have said, that's not how I was raised.
