I've only talked with the fellow a half-dozen times, but as a full-time farmer he has provided friendly advice and information to me and my family. I consider him a friend. He lost his entire dairy operation yesterday when a fire swept through the barn holding his Holstein herd. The rural community is pretty shaken up. I'll go see him and his family when I finish work on Wednesday. Not sure if there's anything I can do to help, but I want him to realize he has support - just needs to point us in a direction.
