MPEG is the most common DVD format. MPEG2 is the most common of the most common. DVD-R is the most common of the Media formats. Most older DVD players in TV monitored systems use those at least. Newer Computer based players and high end 2010 or newer players can play potato chips on a good day, and will self adjust to 30 formats and compression ratios. Jim
