No doubt that the medical section of our economy will make some mistakes. I have read that as many as 100,000 people die every year in the USA from medical mistakes. Compare that to 30,000 on the highways.
They are human and mistakes will happen. What I don't understand is why we worship them, and feel that they have a divine rite to live like kings as the costs for Medicare, medicaid and health insurance soar, and bankrupt our nation.
If some tractor dealer insisted that you do a $3000 test on a $1000 tractor you would pack up and leave. But if a doctor orders a $5000 operation on an 86 year old woman with stage 4 lung cancer and an estimated 30 days to live we say "Oh thank you, thank you".
Happened in my family. She still died, and they got paid.
