"Demo Straight"? Do you mean "demonstrate"?
It is Stihl's policy to service out and start up every new saw before it's delivered to the customer. And as far as I'm concerned, it's a darned good policy. Same way years ago when I was a McCulloch dealer. My agreement with McCulloch at the time required me to fill a new saw with gasoline and bar oil, start it up, and make sure it was running properly before I turned it over to the buyer. Plus, have the buyer start the saw himself a couple of times.
What would you do if you bought a saw through the mail and it didn't start when you received it? Who would you go to for help? How enthused would they be about working on a saw that someone bought through the mail?
