Gee the last time I looked the Government isn't doing the work.....they are only paying for it....to the cheapest bidder. If they have to work around traffic then the price goes up costing the tax payer more. The government lays out the work to be done, the bidders look at that work and tells the government "gee we are going to have to close that road to get the work done in a timely manner" and the government comes up with a traffic management plan including detours to enable the work to be done. It's the working stiff, working for a contractor who has to deal with the stupid people who think "No Thru Traffic" isn't referring to them.
Don't get me wrong......I'm not a fan of how the government is being run. But I'm not willing to pay extra taxes so a road 100 miles from me is convenient to you. I would expect you to pay higher taxes for me.
