If all the rest of this engine is this perfect you are going to have a great engine. As I said befor have built the old 260s for pullers for years and the ring gap that close never caused a problem. Most folks just take a fine file and hit the end of the ring if it does need shaving a little. What did you do to the head... The valve guides were always loose in most of the older heads. For the pullers we would find a LPG head and crank up the compression . Really made a stout engine.
