I ran across a Vicon CM240 disc mower that I couldn't afford not to buy. Owner said he paid $900 for it 5 years ago and used it to mow 10 acress of hay each year for first 3 years then it sat outside for the next two years. He said it ran and mowed fine. It doesn't look like the prettiest mower and the canvas will need replaced in a year or so. I havne't mounted it yet but did put all new blades/blade bolts on it today, and greased it. I will mount it tomorrow and check the gearbox oil and bar oil. I will change oils with 80-90wt. Then give it a whirl. Are these good mowers? Anything to watch out for? I basically paid scrap price, so it doesn't owe me much if it doesn't work out...but hopefully with a little TLC I can have a nice hay mower. Thoughts or input? Thanks
