Read this morning that Doc died at 89. He was one fine musician. A few years ago, he came to Walhalla, SC with his grandson and played even though his doctor had told him to take it easy and especially not yodel. He had a respiratory infection. He did great and yodelled anyway. Near the end of the show, a few locals were invited up on stage to play. My son stood beside Doc and fiddled as he played. Great memory for my son. Yesterday, Bill Lowe and his wife Connie came by to house to visit and we talked about Doc and the times they had spent and played together. For a man who was blind from his first year, Doc really made something of himself. Richard in NW SC
