You might want to pull the distributor and inspect the plug that plugs into the module. I had the same problem with an 86 350, just wouldn't start. The plug end was hard and cracked apart. 1 wire was unplugged from the module. Repaired that and it ran better than it did before. Dad also had a similar problem with his 84' 454, thing ate a module a month $$. We traced it down to the ESC computer. I took out the ESC controlled distributor and put in an old school (1975) HEI distributor and never had another problem.
