Just posted to "Olds" post below about passing through Northwestern Nebraska last weekend with the fires they had. I heard they burned up 77,000 plus acres..which included buildings, animals, etc. University Ag Dept of Nebraska put out a door hanger couple years back.. said to keep mowed about 40' around all buildings for a fire brake.. I have done this for many years however with fires like I saw last weekend not sure that would have helped much.
