Corn gluten pellets are a by product from corn sweetener plants. They are the fiber mixed with the seep water that is left after all of the processing. The seep water has the protein left in it. They are made into pellet form and then dried down to under 10% moisture. They have 18% protein. Cattle love them.
There is also a wet gluten product we haul too. It is 65% moisture. It is only 7% protein. The cattle guys mix it with tub ground hay and corn to finish cattle.
The only problem right now it the cost has gone sky high in the last two months. They where $165 per ton June 1 st. Now they are $265 a ton. Plus the plants have sold just about the entire production for Sept-Oct. I can maybe a load or two that have not been contracted but not any large order.
