At 2nd glance, you could just make a backwards "C" shaped cage steel tube, expanded metal, weight the bottom down leave it mobile or secure/fasten to the concrete, a little ingenuity could make this a lot safer to work around and still allow access to that side for maintenance. I suppose after some careful measuring, sheet metal or expanded metal could be used to make removable covers, probably take some time to figure that out, where to mount, still maintain access, and coordinate them to work together, or just make one big portable guard that could be secured, nice machine to have, when business was good the one in the mill where I worked was always busy and made good money.
