Alzheimer's and dementia are harder on the caregiver than on the patient. They can't remember what you tell them for 2 minutes,they don't know who you are, or only remember things from the past; can't remember how to do anything. Also there is sundowner's syndrome: where they become more agitated in the evening hours and want to leave and go "home", even tho they are home: they WILL leave and wander off. The safest thing is for them to be in a secured assisted nursing facility; safest for them and for your health.It is extremely stressful on you,and stress will kill you AND THEN WHO WILL CARE FOR THEM?
