I took off my injector pump today to get it re-built. Took several hours as I went slow and tried to clean things up. But here is the question: the pump timing marks lined up at about 5 deg before TDC, not 14. The tractor was always hard starting cold but ran well at all rpm. So what problems did it cause? The hard starting? Also, should I have the injectors cleaned at JD? And how much are we talking? Tractor has about 5,000 hours on it and the injectors are the larger early types.
