I'm looking to increase the PTO speed from 540 to about 3600 to power a lawn vac that was powered by a gas engine.
I was thinking of using some cast iron pullies and noticed the one I was looking at said it was a fractional HP pulley and another said light duty.
Allways thought the cast iron pullys could handle more than fractional hp - that it was the belt and angles-distance-ampount of belt incontact with the pulley that would be the limiting factor.
Will the pulley shatter or some other bad thing under say 8HP.
