Lost my little rat terrier a few weeks ago, its been different, nobodys waking me up at the first sign of the squirrel in the tree out front or greeting me when I come back from town. He went out with his boots on, he finally caught that truck. :( his eyes looked different, something was gone after he died. I dont know if dogs have a soul, but a spirit is there. Sure feel your pain, I know they're just animals, but its easy to love something that doesn't ask for anything in return.
