Hard to beat a 12 guage with .00 buckshot for up close work, we usually load "em every other slug and .00 buck in case there is a need to reach out a little further. With the popularity of the Taurus Judge and now the S&W Public Defender chambered to use .45 Colt and .410 guage shotgun shells, they have developed some really neat .00 buck for the .410 so I am sure you can get a good deadly .00 buck round for a .20 guage now, so if a lil less recoil is a concern get the .20 guage.
