Twenty or so years ago, one of the NYCPD stakeout squad members took down 3 armed robbers with a short 20ga pump before they could pull their trigger. I don't remember the elapsed time of the shooting. The important part is that in tight quarters, facing known dangerous assailants, an experienced LEO with a choice of weapons, preferred a 20ga pump for his survival. In more recent years, deer hunters have been using more 20ga shotguns with slugs as accuracy has been improved out to 150yds. 12ga is a known factor. 20ga may also be an excellent choice also. I don't believe that 20 ga is available in 00 buck, just 000 or 0000 buck.
