Years ago I had a JD 1010 that I did not have the wishbone piece to lift the front cultivators. So I made a bracket and used a lift gate pump and a valve to lift the cultivators. It was not the fastest but it worked. The only trouble was that the pump used more electric than the generator would put out. I had to charge the battery at lunch to be able to cultivate all day.
For what you are doing I have seen guys install a power steering pump in the front and drive it with the generator belt. Then just plumb it through an open center valve. They work much faster and would be just about as easy to make. Big plus it that it is live all of the time.
I even saw one plumbed with the power steering pump into the factory lift to make it "live" all the time.
