I got a neighbor who is an actual astronomer. A real live scienist. He hates to see me coming cause he knows I will ask about stuff like this... and the lodge must not tell the secrets of the universe.... like the cold war, news media tells us one thing, truth is somewhere inbetween. The first to let the cat out of the bag was the Vatican, in the mid 80's, building a huge telescope on the south pole, aimed straight up. The southern hemisphere is getting alot of stuff like this the last 20-30 years...they say cause of clear skies and no lights etc- but really cause the brains want to look directly south.... like where all the 'near earth objects' are coming from. They think there is alot of space junk- meteors, asteroids etc- hopelfully nothing bigger- coming closer and more often, from due south... but we the people might get frightened.... so they come up with stories about ET's and life on other planets, so we go away thinking it is just more wasted tax dollars... people sleep easier thinking along those lines...
