I noticed when I lost my inner duly that I had some smoke coming from my starter....I think it was just so hot it was burning the grease residue which had been accumulating on it...seems like I heard a shimmy vibration coming from it too while the engine was running...
Anyhow - turned off the tractor and tried to start it and it started right up...
But the next day...yep it just spins and sping with a gear bumping sound and doesn't crank the engine...after 15 minutes or so I got it started...luckily.
Can a person wack the starter with a hammer to get it started like in a car?
Whats involved with replacing it??? are there a bunch a shims I'll have to tune to ensure the started engages/disengages?
And for anyone reading my prev post...and one know an aftermarket spot to buy one (assuming I need to)because after paying 800.00 for a pair a wedges, Im broke and I'd guess a starter to be around 30,000.00 comparatively...
