I am not part of the generation that won WW 2. I did however grow up with the "draft". The spring after high school, I bummed around working for various farmers all summer and fall. When I started looking for a "real" job, the first question asked of me was "What is your draft status?" When I answered 1-A, they all of a sudden weren't hiring this week. I enlisted in the Army on Dec 29 1963. I feel there is nothing wrong with mandatory Military service for our younger set. It builds character.
