They make sense when you can shut your boiler down completely in summer and reduce it's use in winter..... 30 years ago, other energy wasn't expensive enough in the States to make folks want to do anything alternative... When heating oil gets to six bucks a gallon and vehicle fuel at 8 or so, you may wanna rethink how much CENTS they make....... If not for the deal the guy put together, we would skip solar ourselves (just don't get enough sun).......
