Like many a good retail outlet for specialty items, they seem to be falling by the wayside on what actually got them to where they WERE. It seems that the decisons are based soley on accounting practices and volume movement. Many a company owner gets sucked in to these practices because it appears to make top and bottom lines grow. Well, it does for a while. But they are losing the solid base of loyal customers because few people in the stores that I have visited could spot a tractor in an open field. They do not have a clue what parts fit what. There is little if any selction or choice for things that can really be of use. They recently removed a very good paint line from the shelves and replaced it with junk. Once again, it is an accounting decision, not a good customer retention decison. I will still drop by, but the last big ticket item I bought was a $500 air compressor that was on deep discount due to having a scrape in the tank paint. I pick up a few nuts and bolts to save the drive to the hardware store, but they will not survive on what little I now purchase.
